There is the Law of the Republic of Belarus on Alternative Service. Citizens liable for military and reserve service, medically and physical fit can be sent to the alternative service, if they personally declare that the adoption of the Military Oath, the wearing and the use of weapons, direct participation in the production and maintenance of weapons, ammunition and military equipment are in contrary to their religious beliefs insofar it becomes impossible to carry out military service.

In the absence of a termination request, the consent is valid for the period specified in Article 208 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
